We love healing practices that are accessible and resources that are available to us anywhere or anytime. The body scan meditation is certainly one of our favorites and we are excited to share it with you!

Join Marti Peters-Sparling, MD in this 25 minute body scan meditation practice. During this video, you will be guided to bring attention to your body, noticing different sensations, as you mentally scan down, from head to toe.

Although there are many different styles of body scans and meditation, we hope you enjoy this simple and accessible body scan practice with Dr. Marti.

About Body Scan Origin:

We deeply honor and give thanks to the origins of each healing practice and their ancestors. We are committed to learning the origins of the practice and encourage you to do the same.

Body scan meditation first originates from the Buddhist practice, mindfulness of breathing. U Ba Khin started vipassana meditation in 1937 under the guidance of Saya Thet Gyi who taught mindfulness of breathing (Anālayo, 2019).
